Paradise Valley Town is located in Maricopa County. The town is situated in between Camelback Mountain, Mummy Mountain, and the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. 

Paradise Valley was named in the 1880's by surveyors sent by the Rio Verde Canal Company to turn the area into irrigated farmland. They were so captivated by the natural beauty that they called it "Paradise Valley". The town was incorporated in 1961. The goal was to keep Paradise Valley entirely residential and only allow one house per acre.

Notable residents include cartoonist Bil Keane, singer Stevie Nicks,  and writer Clive Cussler.
