Queen Creek Town is located in Maricopa and Pinal counties. The town was originally called Rittenhouse due to the heavily used railroad track that commuters used to go into Phoenix. As use of the railroad diminished, the name was changed to Queen Creek.

Queen Creek had a large Mexican immigrant population move to the area in the 1920's to work as miners and cotton pickers. In the 1940's, former German prisoners of war and Philippine immigrants joined the local fields.

The community is primarily agricultural and produces cotton, citrus, vegetables, and pecans. It is also home to Queen Creek Olive Mill, which makes Arizona's only extra virgin olive oil.
