Arcadia is in Los Angeles County and 13 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. It is named after the city of Arcadia, Greece. Arcadia is approximately 11.1 square miles.

Arcadia was named one of the best places to raise your kids by Bloomberg Businessweek for two years in a row. Its economy is based on wholesale and retail trade, health care, arts, entertainment, and recreation. It is home to the Santa Anita Racetrack, which has brought significant revenue to the city since its opening.
