Bell City is located in Los Angeles County on the west bank of the Los Angeles River. It is number 13 on the list of the 25 smallest cities in the United States, and only 2.5 square miles. It was incorporated in 1927. The Tongva Native Americans were the first to call the land home. Spanish aristocrat and soldier, Don Antonio Maria Lugo, was one of the first foreign settlers.
Bell City is notorious for the year 2000 Oscar controversy when 55 Oscar statues were stolen from a loading dock in the city. Four-thousand missing Oscar ballots were later found in a Bell post office.
Even though Bell is a small city, we found some excellent resources to help with your wedding planning. You can have a Mexican theme rehearsal dinner catered by La Casita Mexicana and rent out Epoca Hall for your reception. The Dollar Tree is a budget friendly way to find wedding centerpieces, favors, and a variety of other essentials.
In your free time you can visit one of Bell City's parks. Make sure you take a moment to view the rose garden monument at Veterans' Memorial Park. The park also has batting cages, picnic pavilions, basketball courts, and movies in the clubhouse on the first Friday of every month.
