Bellflower City is named after the bellefleur apple, which was grown in the city's apple orchards in the 1900's.  It was first settled by Dutch, Japanese, and Portuguese dairy farmers and produced apples and milk until property values went up, and the farmers were forced to sell their land and move further east.

The closest office to obtain a marriage license in Bellflower is the Los Angeles County-Registar-Recorder/County Clerk office in Norwalk. They also perform civil ceremonies if you desire.
