Carson City is part of Los Angeles County and is bordered by Long Beach and Torrance. It is only 16 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Carson was incorporated on February 20, 1968 and is the youngest municipality in the South Bay. It was originally part of a Spanish Land Grant deeded to Juan Jose Dominguez, but was named after George Henry Carson.
The city shows continual growth. It has over 120 acres of park and recreational facilities that include 3 swimming pools, a boxing center, and the Carson Community Center. It is only 6 miles away from the beach.

The weather in Carson is a bit cooler in the summer since it is close to the Pacific Ocean, so the heat will not be oppressive for an outdoor wedding.
