Lancaster City is part of Los Angeles County and located in Antelope Valley.  It was originally populated by the Piute Indians, but owes its population boom to the South Pacific Railroad. Its prosperity continued with the discovery of gold and borax. 

According to U.S. News and World Report, it is one of the best retirement cities in the United States.

If you are planning an April wedding, the California Poppy Festival, which brings over 60,000 guests annually, is a fun way to spend a day.You can enjoy food from local vendors, listen to jazz music, or enjoy artwork and sand sculptures. 

Even if you miss the Poppy Festival, you can visit the Poppy Reserve year round.  Lancaster also has golf courses, the historic Western Hotel Museum, and the Kids Time Children's Museum for your younger guests.
