Monrovia City is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and is the fourth oldest city in Los Angeles County. It was incorporated in 1887. 

Monrovia is the home base for Trader Joe's, Green Dot, and Naked Juice. The city has been used as a location for television shows, commercials, and movies. The house in the 1986 cult horror movie "House" is located in Monrovia.

Notable residents of Monrovia include The Fabulous Wonder Twins, guitarist Jim Fuller, and actor Jason Earles.

Monrovia has both the Monrovia Historical Museum and the George Anderson House Museum. You can view Native American artifacts and recreated rooms from the 1900's. If you are planning a wedding anytime from March to December, make sure you attend the street party in Old Town Monrovia. It goes from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. every Friday night and has food booths, kiddie rides, and live entertainment.
