Garden Grove is a city in Orange County, California. This city covers a total area of 46.5 square kilometers and has about 170, 000 people.

Garden grove was founded in the year 1874 by Alonzo Cook. It started out with only a school district and a Methodist church in 1874. It went on to remain a small rural town until the arrival of the railway in the 1905.

The Long Beach earthquake destroyed much of the central business district in Garden Grove but the city rebounded with rapid development after World War II. This rapid development led to the incorporation of the town into a city in 1956.

Garden Grove has the second largest population of Vietnamese Americans, and the second highest concentration of any city in America.

There are various festivals in Garden Grove such as the Strawberry Festival, which is one of the largest community festivals in Western United States. Notable residents of this city include actor, writer and comedian Steve Martin and Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.
