San Clemente is a city located in Orange County, California with a population of approximately 63,600 residents.  It is located on the California coast of between Los Angeles and San Diego.  It is known for its mountain, hill and ocean views, pleasant climate and Spanish Colonial style of architecture.  

San Clemente is 19.5 square miles in total area and its slogan is "Spanish Village by the Sea."  The city was officially incorporated on February 27, 1928.

Much admired by explorers and passing settlers, San Clemente remained virtually uninhabited until 1776.  At that time Mission San Juan Capistrano was established by Father Junipero Serraand.  Property rights changed hands several times but very few people ventured to build until 1925 when Ole Hanson purchased and designed a 2,000 acre community.
