Santa Ana was originally home to the Tongva people. It was owned by Spanish army Sergeant Mr. Jose Antonio Yorba in 1810, but was passed on to the United States after the Mexican American war.

The extension of the Pacific electric railway to Santa Ana opened up the place and further development was experienced during World War II, when defense companies such as Glenn L. Martin Aviation Company started operating in the area. The US Air Force also made Santa Ana their training center.

Presently, Santa Ana forms part of the Los Angeles–Long Beach–Santa Ana metropolitan area, which is the 2nd largest metropolitan area in America. Santa Ana is also known to be the 4th most densely populated city in America.

The city hosts many weddings annually, and you can find wedding venues such as Wedding Wire's Brides’ Choice Award winner Hacienda Restaurant. You can have your wedding ceremony as well as the reception there. If you are looking for a caterer, there is Jason's Catered Events that can provide the sumptuous meals you and your guests are looking for to celebrate the big day.
