Stanton City is located in Orange County. It  is surrounded by Cypress, Anaheim, and Garden Grove. 

When the Pacific Electric Railway opened a depot in 1906, it became so busy that they ran two cars both ways. The railway helped increase growth in Stanton by making it easy for potential buyers to survey the land and commute to Los Angeles for business. 

The city of Anaheim proposed making the area into a sewage farm, but residents rejected the proposal and incorporated as their own community in May 1911. 

Stanton chose to abandon its incorporation in 1924 so that the state could build roads through their community. They reincorporated in 1956. The city is primarily residential, commercial, and and industrial.
