Perris is a city that is located in Riverside County, California with a rapidly growing population of approximately 68,000 residents.   The city has an area of 31.4 square miles.  

In the 1880's people began to settle in the area that is now Perris.  In 1882 the California Southern built a rail connection through the area and the city was founded around the new depot.  The city is named for the chief engineer of the California Southern Railroad, Fred T. Perris.  In 1911, when the city was incorporated it was actually a part of San Diego County, but in 1892 the city was transferred to Riverside County which had just been established.
