San Jacinto is a city that is located in Riverside County, California with a population of approximately 44,200 residents.  The city is 26.1 square miles in size.  In 1870 San Jacinto was founded and then incorporated on April 9, 1888.  This makes it one of Riverside County's oldest cities.  

Mt. San Jacinto College, a community college that was founded in 1965, makes its home in San Jacinto as does the Soboba Casino.  This gaming casino is owned and operated by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians.  

In 1883 a plan for the community was developed and the city's government was formed in the same year it was incorporated.  The railroad arrived in 1888 as well.  Agriculture was what the local economy was built on for many years.  San Jacinto also saw economic gain from the many tourists who came to visit the nearby hot springs.
