Wildomar City is located in Riverside County and spans 23.7 square miles. It was founded in December 1885 by William Collier, Donald Graham, and Margaret Collier Graham. The city's name is a combination of all the names of its founders. 

Wildomar developed quickly in the early years. By 1887 it had a school, post office, railroad depot, a hotel, a blacksmith shop, a lumber yard, and numerous other small businesses. Problems with the rail line slowed its growth and the population dwindled.

When the Interstate Freeway Temecula 15 was completed in 1985, potential residents regained interest in the area. The city was incorporated on July 1, 2008.

Native plants that can be found in the area include the California Poppy and the California Sycamore.

Even though Wildomar is rural, it is in close proximity to excellent restaurants and shopping centers. It has 272 days of sunshine annually, but keep in mind that the summers can be very hot, with an average temperature in July of 98 degrees Fahrenheit.
