Apple Valley is a town that is located in San Bernardino County, California with a population of roughly 69,500 residents.  The town was incorporated in November 1988 and is one of only 22 municipalities in California that uses the term town rather than city in its name.  Apple Valley is 73.2 square miles in size.

For many centuries, the area that is now Apple Valley was inhabited by Chemehueve, Paiute, Serrano, Shoshonean and Vanyume who were all attracted to the vegetation and water around the Mojave River.  The Mojave tribe came later and were the first group to be encountered in 1542.  

Many centuries later, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans made their home in Apple Valley and their museum was first established there in 1967.  However, it was later relocated to Victorville in 1976.  It was relocated yet again in 2003 to Branson, Missouri in hopes of being able to reach more fans.  However, it was closed in 2009 for financial reasons.
