Rialto City, which was originally inhabited by the Serrano Native Americans, is located in San Bernardino County. 

The climate is Continental Mediterranean, characterized by chilly winter mornings and dry summers. The Santa Ana winds make Rialto very hot during the fall and can cause problems with wildfires. 

Rancho San Bernardino was granted to the Lugo family in 1842. The oldest building in Rialto is a 19th century adobe, which was restored and sits in Bud Bender Park.

Rialto is currently the headquarters for Pyro Spectaculars, Staples, Inc., Toys "R" Us, FedEx, and Target distribution centers. Sections of Interstate 210 have been used as a location for movies, including Transformers, The Hangover, and Due Date.

Notable residents and natives include football player Nick Barnett, film director John Singleton, and poet David Ray.
