Morgan Hill City, which is bordered by the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Diablo Range, is located in Santa Clara County. It was established on November 10, 1906. The city is named after Missouri businessman, Hiriam Morgan Hill.

Morgan Hill's land was originally used for farming, orchards, and ranching. It was once famous for a semi-precious gemstone named "Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper". Every year the city hosts the non-profit Poppy Jasper Film Festival.

Today Morgan Hill is a bedroom community for high-tech companies located in the Silicon Valley.
