Mountain View is a city that is located in Santa Clara County, California. The city of Mountain View covers an area of about 12.2 square miles and derives its name from its view of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The city borders Palo Alto to the Northwest, Sunnyvale to the Southeast as well as Los Altos to the Southwest.

Incorporated in 1902, the city started out as a stagecoach stop. It was a largely agricultural area up until the 20^th century when World War II brought electronics and aerospace industries. Presently, the city is located within the Silicon Valley and is home to several giant technological corporations such as Google, Intuit, Symantec, LinkedIn as well as Mozilla Firefox.
