Marlborough is a city that is located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. This city borders Sudbury to the East, Berlin and Northborough to the West, Southborough to the South and Hudson to the North. Marlborough covers a total area of 22.2 square miles.

First settled in 1657 and declared a town in 1660, Marlborough was a prosperous industrial town in the 19^th century.  From its founding, it grew as a rest stop on the Boston Post road but it was the establishment of a shoe company in 1836 by Samuel Boyd and his brother which changed Marlborough for good.
