Waltham is a city that is located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Covering a total area of approximately 13.6 square miles, the city borders Weston and Lincoln to the West, Belmont and Watertown to the East, Lexington to the North and Newton to the South.

Settlement in Waltham began in 1634. The city was an early center for the labor movement and it also played a crucial role in the industrial revolution. It is sometimes fondly referred to as watch city because of its early associations with watch manufacturing.
