Bellevue is a city located in King County, Washington. Bellevue covers an area of 33.9 square meters and is sometimes referred to as a satellite city of Seattle. Bellevue is French for beautiful view.  It borders Issaquah to the East, Redmond to the Northeast, Mercer Island to the Southwest, Kirkland to the North and Medina, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point and Yarrow Point to the West.

Founded in 1869 by William Meydenbauer, Bellevue was incorporated in 1953. Prior to the opening of Lake Washington Floating Bridge, the city was a small rural community which did not have much development.

Bellevue grew with the opening of the Murrow Memorial Bridge which improved access to and from Seattle. Further and more rapid development and growth was witnessed with the opening of the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, which is the largest in the world.

Presently, Bellevue is a developed city which is a good place to live and start a business. In 2008, it was voted by CNN/Money Magazine as the best place in the US to live and start a business. Currently, it is in 4^th place in the list of best places to live and start a business. It is the 6^th wealthiest city in Washington and it is also the 2^nd largest city center in the State of Washington.

Notable residents in the city include co-founders of Heart rock band Ann and Nancy Wilson as well as wide receivers for the Seattle SeaHawks, Deon Butler and Golden Tate.
