Bothell City

Bothell City, which is named after settler David Bothell, is located in both King and Snohomish Counties. It was incorporated on April 14, 1909.

The area was inhabited by the Sammamish Native Americans until they were relocated to reservations after the Puget Sound War in 1856.

Columbus S. Greenleaf and George R. Wilson established the community in 1870 and were soon followed by an additional eight families. The community's commercial logging business began in 1876, in what is now downtown Bothell. In 1917 Lake Washington was lowered and the economy became dependent on farming instead.
