Federal Way is a city in King County, Washington. Federal Way covers an area of 21.1 square miles and is located between Tacoma and Seattle. It was incorporated in 1990 and borders Des Moines to the North, Tacoma and Fife to the South as well as Kent and Milton to the East.

This city was originally a logging settlement which was named after the Federal Highway U.S 99 (present day state route 99) that passed through the city.

The city is home to Weyerhaeuser, which is one of the largest pulp and paper companies in the world. It is actually the largest private softwood timberland owner in the world.

There are several notable residents in Federal Way, and they include Commander in Chief actor Kyle Secor as well as 2 time Olympic medalists and world champion speed skater J.R Celski.
