Lake Forest Park City, which sits on the northernmost tip of Lake Washington, is located in King County. It is surrounded by Seattle, Shoreline, Mountlake Terrace, Kenmore, and Brier.

The city is mainly residential, with a large percentage of workers commuting to Seattle. There are no industrial areas and only 4% of Lake Forest Park is commercial. 

Lake Forest Park was founded by Ole Hanson and A.H. Reid in 1912. It was one of the area's first planned communities and focused on preserving the land's natural beauty. The landscape is cultivated with parks and nature preserves. The city was incorporated on June 20, 1961.
