California

California is a mecca for weddings.

It is located on the West Coast of the United States. Being the most populated state, it has by far the most weddings. After Alaska and Texas, it has the most land of all the other states.

It boasts:

• The second and sixth largest counties: los angeles county and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The capital of California is Sacramento. Its a very diverse state. One can plan a wedding by the sea, think beach wedding dresses, on the Pacific Coast to the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the East. There are deserts in the southeast (Mojave Desert) and huge forrests in the northwest.

An agricultural region dominates the center of the state, called Central Valley.

The highest and lowest points in the US can both be found in California. Mount Whitney and Death Valley.

This surfing state has the third longest coastline of all the US states after Alaska and Florida.

Your wedding could be interrupted by an earthquake as the state is located on the pacific ring of fire.

A large portion of the geographt is named with Spanish names as the state was originally claimed and colonized by Spain.

After several wars, the state was admitted to the USA as the 31st state in 1850.

This was soon after the California gold rush lead to a dramatic increase in the population as people streamed to the West in search of fortune.
