Alameda County

Alameda  County is a county that is located in the state of California with a population of approximately 1,550,000 residents which makes it the 7th most populated county in the state.  The county seat is Oakland.  Alameda has a total area of 821.15 square miles.

Alameda County was formed on March 25, 1853.  Originally the county seat was Alvarado.  In 1856, it was moved to San Leandro and after a devastating earthquake in 1868, the county seat was re-established in Brooklyn from 1872-1875.  Brooklyn is now a part of Oakland and has been the county seat since 1873.

If you will be getting married in Alameda County, you will want to start by choosing a location.  But how?  There are garden locations, wineries and interesting museums.  There is an abundance of great locations to choose from.  Of course, once you have chosen a location for your big day, then you will want to work on choosing wedding vendors.  Alameda County has many wedding vendors for you to choose from.  

One of the nicest wedding venues in the County is Grandview Pavilion.  It is a beautiful location for an outdoor wedding and can accommodate up to 450 guests at its maximum. 

With eight National Historic Landmarks in Alameda County, you  will not have to look far to find places to visit during some of your downtime surrounding your wedding.  There are also 350 various types of parks located in Alameda County.  Not only are the parks great places to visit and spend a bit of free time, but they some of the locations can be utilized for wedding venues as well.  In the Hayward  Area Recreation and Parks District there is Meek Park and the Japanese Gardens that are both excellent locations for an outdoor wedding.  As an added bonus the cost to rent either of  these areas is very reasonable, even for a non-resident.
