Riverside County

Riverside County is a county in the state of California.  Riverside County gets its name from the city of Riverside which is also its county seat.  Riverside County is 7,208 square miles in area.  Riverside and San Bernardino Counties together have been dubbed the Inland Empire.  Riverside County has a population of approximately 2.2 million residents and is the 4th most populated county in California.  It is also among the fastest growing areas of the Untied States.  

Riverside County Wedding

The county is mostly desert in the eastern and central portions and has a Mediterranean climate in the western portion.  The biggest portion of Joshua Tree National Park is located in Riverside County.  Riverside County is inland of Los Angeles and shares borders with Orange County on the west, San Bernardino County on the north, San Diego and Imperial Counties on the south and Arizona state to the east.  

Riverside County is home to the famous resort cities of Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, Palm Desert and Palm Springs.  Housing is relatively affordable in Riverside County and, therefore, large numbers of Los Angeles area workers have moved to the county in recent years.  

If you are planning to marry in Riverside County, you can obtain a marriage license through the County Clerk's office.  Once the license has been issued it will be valid for up to 90 days.  If you would like for a friend or family member to actually be the officiant and perform your wedding ceremony, they can be appointed "Commissioner for the Day" by the Commissioner of Civil Marriages.  There is a fee for this service, however, you will be able to have your friend or family member perform your ceremony and be legally married at the conclusion.
