San Mateo County is an ethnically diverse area in the San Francisco Bay Area, with some unique resources to help make the wedding planning process go smoothly.

Major incorporated cities in San Mateo County include the county seat, Redwood City, Brisbane, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Woodside, San Mateo, Pacifica, and Daly City.

The county is home to San Francisco International Airport, which is geographically in county lines, and it has a well-developed transportation system, as it is served by SamTrans, which provides bus services, Caltrain, and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), so you and your wedding guests will be able to easily navigate the area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

San Mateo County is home to numerous county parks that offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation and beautiful natural scenery for your engagement and wedding photographs.

Major parks include Coyote Point Recreation Area, Coyote Point Marina, Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, Junipero Serra County Park, Pescadero Creek Park, and San Pedro Valley County Park, just to name a few. 

San Mateo County has some great wedding venues for you to consider, including Holbrook Palmer Park in Atherton, Fogarty Winery & Vineyards in Woodside, which features panoramic views of the Bay, Lighthouse Hotel in Pacifica, which is just minutes away from San Francisco, Ralston Hall Mansion in Belmont, and San Benito House in Half Moon Bay, which has large redwood deck for live music and dancing.

A marriage license in San Mateo County costs $78, and remember that you must be married within 90 days of the date the license was issued. You can obtain your license in Redwood City any weekday, and make sure you save some time, as the county clerk's office does not take appointments. 

While you are in Redwood City, it is worth your time to check out the County History Museum and grab a bite to eat at one of the charming restaurants downtown.
