Santa Clara County is a county that is located in the state of California with a population of approximately 1,800,000.  It's county seat is San Jose.  Santa Clara County is home to the well known "Silicon Valley."  Santa Clara is among the most affluent counties in the United States.  The county is 1,304.01 square miles in size.  The San Andreas Fault is located in the south of the county running along the Santa Cruz Mountains.  

Santa Clara County was formed in 1950 at the same time that California achieved statehood.  It was one California's original counties.  Original inhabitants of Santa Clara County were the Ohlone which lived on Calaveras Creek and Coyote Creek.  The area has a high concentration of high technology and electronics companies, hence the nickname "Silicon Valley."

Getting married in Santa Clara County is going to be a breeze.  There are numerous resources to help you with your wedding planning, right down to the tiniest detail.  You can find shops where you can browse through many beautiful wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses.  There is every type of wedding venue you can imagine.  You can plan a wedding on a budget at one of the Santa Clara County Parks or you can have an over-the-top, lavish affair at one of the many hotels, resorts or cultural venues.  

When you are planning a wedding in Santa Clara County, you will need to obtain a marriage license at the Santa Clara County Office of the Clerk Recorder.  The license is valid for 90 days and can only be used in the state of California.  

Be sure to take a bit of time out of the hectic preparations for your wedding and visit some of the areas attractions.  There is the Montalvo Arts Center which also makes an excellent wedding venue and Mexican Heritage Plaza which houses The School of Arts and Culture.  This facility is available as a wedding venue as well.
