Douglas County, which is located between Colorado's two largest cities, Denver and Colorado Springs, is a lightly wooded, scenic region, making it a beautiful place for a wedding.

Major parks and trails in Douglas County include Pike National Forest, Roxborough State Park, Castlewood Canyon State Park, Chatfield State Recreation Area, Platte River Greenway National Recreation Trail, American Discovery Trail, and Devils Head National Recreation Trail, just to name a few.

Even though Douglas County is known for its rural areas, it still has some bustling shopping venues, so you will be able to easily find the essentials on your wedding checklist.

Some popular places to shop include Historic Downtown Castle Rock, the Outlets at Castle Rock, and Park Meadows, which is a retail resort in Lone Tree. Also, make sure you visit the Castle Rock Wedding District, which is located downtown.
