Out of all the counties in Connecticut, New Haven County is the third most populated county, and it has plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.

Major cities and towns in New Haven County include New Haven and Waterbury, which are two of the state's largest cities, Ansonia, Cheshire, Derby, East Haven, Hamden, Branford, Middlebury, and Naugatuck.

Your wedding checklist is probably quite long, but New Haven County has some great shopping venues to help you find the essentials. The city of New Haven as over 50 specialty boutiques and shops along its historic Chapel Street and Broadway that are worth a look. 

If you want a bachelorette party, New Haven also provides a vibrant nightlife downtown, as it has numerous bars, dance clubs, wine bars, and fine dining restaurants. 

The county has a well-developed public transportation system, so you and your wedding guests will be able to easily explore the area. The city of New Haven is connected to New York City by commuter rail, inter-city rail, and regional rail, and it has bus services available through the New Haven Division of Connecticut Transit (CT Transit). 

New Haven County has a wide range of activities and attractions for you to enjoy during your free time, including East Mountain Golf Course and Western Hills Golf Course in Waterbury, the Mattatuck Museum Arts and History Center, Seven Angels Theatre, Knights of Columbus Museum, the Eli Whitney Museum, and the John Slade Ely House.
