Sunrise is a city that is located in Broward County, Florida. The city covers an area of about 18.4 square miles and was founded by Norman Johnson.

The city was incorporated in 1960 and was originally known as Sunrise Gold Village. The upside down home in Sunrise was one of the factors that led to the growth of the city in the 1970s.

It is currently home to Sawgrass Mills Mall, which is the 4^th largest outlet shopping mall in the United States.
