Volusia County

Volusia County is a popular area for destination weddings, as it is home to miles of beaches, numerous resorts, beautiful forests, and has warm weather year-round.

Major incorporated cities in Volusia County include the county seat of DeLand, Daytona Beach, Edgewater, Holly Hill, Lake Helen, Orange City, Ormond Beach, Ponce Inlet, Port Orange, and South Daytona. 

Volusia County is served by Volusia County Public Transit System (VOTRAN), SunRail, and the LYNX route, which connects to major tourist destinations like Orlando, so you and your wedding guests will be able to easily explore the area.

Daytona Beach is the place to go if you want entertainment and nightlife, but for intimate wedding ceremonies, there are some quieter beaches, including Lighthouse Point Park, Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park, Al Weeks Sr. North Shore Park, Smyrna Dunes Park, and 27th Avenue Park, just to name a few.

If you prefer the forest, Volusia County is home to over 10,000 acres of parkland and trails. Many of the county's parks have facilities you can rent for special occasions, offer beautiful locations for engagement and wedding photographs, and have opportunities for ecotourism.

Major Volusia County parks include Ed Stone Park, Colby-Alderman Park, River Breeze Park, Tiger Bay State Forest, North Peninsula State Park, Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge, Blue Spring State Park, and De Leon Springs State Park. 

Volusia County is worth, at the very least, an extended wedding weekend, so you can have some time to enjoy what it has to offer.

To start, you can visit Sugar Mill Gardens, tour DeBary Hall Historic Site, Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum, or the Marine Science Center, and see a race at Daytona International Speedway, New Smyrna Speedway, or Volusia Speedway Park.
