Norfolk County

Norfolk County, which is known as the "County of Presidents," is comprised of 28 communities that are mostly to the south and west of Boston, and we found some diverse resources to help you with the wedding planning process. 

Major cities, towns, and villages in Norfolk County include the county seat, Dedham, Avon, Bellingham, Holbrook, Dover, Foxborough, Milton, Norfolk, Quincy, and Westwood. 

The county is served by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, which offers a variety of public transportation services, so you and your wedding guests will be able to easily explore the area.

Norfolk County is home to several nationally protected areas, including Adams National Historic Park in Quincy, part of Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site, and the John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site.

The Boston Islands National Recreation Area, in addition to providing plenty of outdoor recreation, such as boating, kayaking, and camping, is also one of Norfolk County's most scenic wedding venues. 

Most brides have long wedding checklists, and you are probably no different. Thankfully, Norfolk County has some great shopping venues, especially in Quincy, which was once known as "Shopperstown, USA."

Make sure to check out all of Quincy's distinct shopping districts, including Quincy Center and Wollaston, Norfolk Downs, and Marina Bay, which all feature upscale boutiques and specialty stores.

Other popular shopping venues in Norfolk County include Patriot Place in Foxborough, Dedham Mall in Dedham, Stallbrook Marketplace, Crossroads Shopping Center, and Charles River Center.

Norfolk County has plenty of attractions, museums, and parks for you to enjoy during your free time, so make sure you take a few days to enjoy all that the area has to offer.

Popular attractions (in addition to the nationally protected areas) include Blue Hills Reservation, the Josiah Quincy House, U.S.S. Salem, Hancock Cemetery, Dorothy Quincy Homestead, and Thomas Crane Public Library.
