Worcester County consists of numerous towns and villages, including the county seat of Worcester City, and it is considered to be part of the greater Boston metropolitan area, as Boston is only about a one hour drive away.

You will have convenient access to the Worcester Regional Airport, and the county is served by the Worcester Regional Transit Authority, so you can navigate the area with ease as you shop for your wedding gown and other wedding essentials.

Worcester County offers some elegant and sophisticated wedding venues, including the Tower Hill Botanical Garden, which features a cathedral with a ceiling made of glass and a Great Hall with a massive stone fireplace, which is perfect for winter weddings, as there are approximately 68 inches of snow annually.

Make sure you stop by the Worcester City Clerk's Office in Worcester during the wedding planning process to apply for your marriage license, and remember to apply at least three business days before your wedding. 

The county's seat, Worcester, which is the third largest city in New England, is a vibrant and historic community with a little bit of something for everyone, including eclectic cuisine options, its professional sports team, the Worcester Sharks, college sports teams, the Green Hill Golf Course, and the Korean War Memorial.

In Worcester City alone, there are over 1,250 acres of parkland that can be utilized for picnics, recreation, and for engagement and wedding photographs. 

Other historic attractions include Fruitlands Museum, the Willard Clock Museum, the Worcester History Museum, and the American Antiquarian Society. For book lovers, the county has major libraries such as the Clark University Archives and Special Collections, Holy Cross College Library, and Robert H. Goddard Library.

The county is also home to numerous locations that are registered on the National Register of Historic Places, including Atherton Bridge in Lancaster, Elm Hill Farm Historic District in Brookfield, and the Enoch Whitmore House in Ashburnham.
