Even though Ramsey County is the smallest in area in Minnesota, it is the most densely populated, and we found plenty of resources there to help you plan the wedding of your dreams.
Major cities and towns in Ramsey County include the county seat (and state capital) of St. Paul, Arden Hills, North Oaks, Mounds View, New Brighton, Falcon Heights, White Bear Township, Lauderdale, and Little Canada.
Ramsey County has approximately 6,300 acres of parks and open spaces, including 98 lakes where you can go fishing, boating, or swimming.
In addition to providing outdoor recreation opportunities, some of the parks, such as Tamarack Nature Center, are popular sites to host wedding ceremonies and take photographs, as long as you get a special events permit at least three weeks before your event.
Other popular parks include Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary Park, Crosby Farm Park, and Indian Mounds Park.
Ramsey County also has a variety of other wedding venues available, including luxury hotels, country clubs, historic sites, and museums. Make sure you check out Summit Manor Reception House, Minnesota History Center, and Hillcrest Golf Club of Saint Paul.
There are numerous shopping centers in Ramsey County, so you will be able to easily find everything on your wedding checklist. While The Mall of America is not located in Ramsey County, it is just across the way from the county seat of St. Paul, so you can easily plan a day trip there.
Within Ramsey County, popular shopping venues include Northtown Mall, Maplewood Mall, the shops in Downtown St. Paul, Rosedale Center, and White Bear Hills Shopping Center, just to name a few.
Ramsey County has plenty of attractions for you to enjoy during your free time, so make sure you take a break from the wedding planning process to enjoy the region.
To start, you can bet on the races at Running Aces Harness Park, tour Twin City Model Railroad Museum, play at the year-round facility of Great River Water Park, or go beer tasting at one of the local breweries, such as Summit Brewing Company or Lift Bridge Brewery.
