Bergen County, which has the largest population of any county in New Jersey, is considered part of the New York Metropolitan Area and has plenty of resources to help you find the essentials on your wedding checklist. 

The county consists primarily of townships, villages, and boroughs, with its seat being the city of Hackensack. Some major boroughs in Bergen County include Glen Rock, Emerson, Ridgefield, and Norwood.

Bergen County is served by New Jersey Transit and private companies such as Coach USA, Academy Bus Lines, DeCamp Bus Lines, and the Red and Tan Bus Lines, which offer transportation throughout the county, so you and your wedding guests will be able to easily explore the area.

Bergen County is home to numerous county parks and two state parks, so whether you want a natural setting for your engagement and wedding photographs or simply want to get some fresh air, you will have plenty of options.

Popular parks include Ramapo Mountain State Forest, Palisades Interstate Park, Saddle River County Park, Overpeck County Park, and Samuel Nelkin County Park, just to name a few.

You can also visit the county's historic sites and museums, including Historic New Bridge Landing, The Hermitage, The Aviation Hall of Fame of New Jersey, the African Art Museum, and the Maywood Station Museum.
