Burlington County, New Jersey, which is considered part of the Delaware Valley area and located east of the Delaware River, has some great resources to help you plan the wedding of your dreams.
Major municipalities in Burlington County include the county seat of Mount Holly Township, Beverly, Bordentown, Burlington, Pemberton, Wrightstown, Eastampton Township, Hainesport Township, and North Hanover Township.
Burlington County has over 1,000 acres of developed parkland, a regional trail system, and 3,500 acres of land slated for development, so you will have plenty of areas to explore, whether you're looking for outdoor recreation opportunities or for outdoor wedding venues.
Major parks include Amico Island Park, Crystal Lake Park, Boundary Creek Natural Resource Area, Burlington County Community Agricultural Center, and Willingboro Lakes Park.
Several of Burlington County's parks have pavilions you can rent for special occasions, including Long Bridge Park, Pennington Park, and Historic Smithville Park. However, keep in mind that the winters in New Jersey are very cold, as the average temperature in January is 23.7 degrees Fahrenheit.
The county is home to a variety of shopping venues, so you will be able to easily find everything on your wedding checklist.
Make sure you check out Burlington Center Mall, The Mill Race Shops, where you can find one-of-a-kind wedding favors, jewelry, and accessories, Main Street Mount Holly, and Downtown Bordentown.
If you're a history lover, Burlington County is a great place for an extended wedding weekend. The city of Burlington was the center of a large abolitionist movement and is home to 40 historic buildings, some of which were part of the Underground Railroad.
You can also tour The Old School House in Mount Holly, Rancocas Nature Center, and Burlington County Prison Museum, spend a few days at CoCo Key Water Resort in Mount Laurel, take a boat cruise on the Delaware River, or visit the Firehouse Gallery in Bordentown.
