Monmouth County, which is located in New Jersey but considered part of the New York metropolitan area, has some great resources to help you with the wedding planning process.
Major municipalities in Monmouth County include the county seat, Freehold Borough, Farmingdale, Aberdeen Township, Asbury Park, Bradley Beach, Englishtown, and Fair Haven.
The county is served by New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line railway line, which connects into Penn Station in New York, and by New Jersey Transit bus services, so you and your guests will be able to easily navigate the area and go into New York City if you so desire.
Even though it's near major New York shopping areas, Monmouth County has some great shopping venues of its own, so you will have no problem finding everything on your wedding checklist within county lines.
Popular Monmouth County shopping venues include Brook 35 Plaza in Sea Girt, Freehold Raceway Mall, The Grove at Shrewsbury, Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, Pier Village in Long Branch, Circle Factory Outlet in Manasquan, and the Collingwood Auction and Flea Market in Farmingdale.
Monmouth County has a number of charming bed and breakfasts that are perfect for romantic getaways or intimate wedding receptions. Several of the bed and breakfasts, including Atlantic View Inn in Avon-by-the-Sea, have direct beach access, so you can easily take beach wedding photographs.
Other well-known Monmouth County bed and breakfasts include Blue Bay Inn in Atlantic Highlands, Asbury Ocean Beach Inn B&B, Sandcastle Inn in Bradley Beach, and Inn on Main in Manasquan, just to name a few.
Monmouth County has plenty for you to enjoy during your free time, including Monmouth Park Racetrack, Garrett Flight Center, Silver Ball Museum, Cream Ridge Winery, Four JG's Vineyard, and during the warmer summer months, agritourism at Battleview Orchards, Patterson Greenhouses, Cedar Hill Farm and Nursery, and Butterfly Blue Farms.
