Westchester County has over 20,000 acres of parkland, several educational nature centers, and 22 river towns with shorelines along both the Hudson River and Long Island Sound, so if you want natural settings for your engagement or wedding photographs, there will be plenty of scenic locations for you to choose from--just keep in mind that the county has approximately 31.9 inches of snowfall annually, with a frigid average low of 20.1 degrees Fahrenheit in January.

The county is known for its "old money" families and has some beautiful restored castles, mansions, and other historic sites that are worth checking out as possible wedding venues, including Lyndhurst Castle and Reid Castle at Manhattanville College.

Westchester County also some great restaurants and clubs that are great choices for rehearsal dinners or intimate receptions, such as Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club, The Capitol Theater, or Blue Hill Restaurant at Stone Barns.

Even if you are having a wedding outside Westchester County's boundary lines, it is worth your time to venture into this wealthy community to visit attractions such as the Katonah Museum of Art and the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, or the Neuburger Museum of Art in Purchase.
