Planning a wedding in any location can be a wonderful experience and wedding planning in Franklin County, Ohio is no different.  As the second largest county in Ohio, Franklin County has many unique venues available to host your wedding ceremony and reception.  The county seat is Columbus and there you will find several unique venues that are perfect for either a quick elopement or a large and lavish wedding ceremony and reception.  

While Franklin County has many cities, townships and villages, by far Columbus is the largest and best known.  There you will find everything you need to plan a perfect wedding day.  There are quite a few shops where you can shop for wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses and outfits for the entire wedding party including the mother of the bride and the flower girl.  There are also several very unique venues available that will make your special day even more special with their unique qualities.  One such venue is Station 67 which is a restored railway station.  The building is one of the few remaining original train stations in Central Ohio.  

At over 543 square miles in size, Franklin County also has many outdoor venues available to host a wedding.  These range from local parks to commercial venues such as Weddings R Us who have outdoor garden facilities available for rent.  Since Franklin County does not have a waiting period for marriage licenses, you can purchase your marriage license and get married all in the same day.  

While you are in Franklin County you can take a bit of time to visit Ohio State University which is the largest college in the United States.  If you are a lover of the outdoors you can also visit Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens or The Park of Roses within Whetstone Park.  Either of these attractions would make for excellent wedding venues as well.
