Hamilton County, which is the third most populous county in the state of Ohio and consists of 49 political jurisdictions, has plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.
If you are a nature lover, then Hamilton County is the perfect place to get married. The Hamilton County Parks District has numerous recreation activities available for you and your wedding guests to enjoy, parkland with beautiful natural areas that are perfect for engagement and wedding photographs, and a number of outdoor wedding venues, such as the Withrow Nature Preserve. There is also the nearby historic Highwood Lodge or Sweetvine Banquet Center at Vineyard Golf Course if weather does not cooperate for an outdoor event.
Since winters in Hamilton County can be very cold, remember that most outdoor wedding venues, including the Withrow Nature Preserve, are only open from May through October, so reserve your wedding day early if you want to ensure your spot.
For an adventurous weekend getaway, Hamilton County offers three campgrounds: Miami Whitewater Forest, Steamboat Bend in Woodland Moundand, and Winton Woods Campground in Winton Woods. You can also go fishing or row boating on Lake Isabella, horseback riding at Winton Woods Riding Center, canoeing on one of the four lakes at Campbell Lakes Preserve, or take one of the county's 15 nature trails.
If you prefer the indoors, the county seat of Hamilton County is Cincinnati, so you and your guests will be in close proximity to major attractions such as the Taft Museum of Art, the Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Horseshoe Casino. If you love sports, you can watch a Cincinnati Bengals or Cincinnati Reds game depending on the season.
Cincinnati is also home to upscale and eclectic shopping centers, so you will have an enjoyable experience finding wedding supplies, bridal jewelry, and the perfect wedding gown.
