Cleveland County

Cleveland County, Oklahoma, which is considered part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area, has plenty of resources to help you plan the wedding of your dreams.

Major cities and towns in Cleveland County include Moore, which is the county seat, Etowah, Lexington, Norman, Noble, Slaughterville, and a small portion of Oklahoma City—though most of it is in Oklahoma County.

Cleveland County features primarily suburban and rural areas, and it has plenty of beautiful parks where you can take engagement and wedding photographs or enjoy recreational activities such as hiking, picnicking, and biking.

The county seat of Moore alone has over 240 acres of beautiful parks, many of which have facilities you can rent for special occasions. Major parks in Cleveland County include Buck Thomas Park, Tom Strouhal/Little River Park, Greenbriar Park, Apple Valley Park, Lake Thunderbird State Park, and Veteran's Memorial Park.

Since Oklahoma City is so close (and partly in Cleveland County), you might want to consider taking a day trip there when shopping for wedding supplies, as it is home to numerous major shopping venues, including CrossRoads Mall, Southwestern Plaza Shopping Center, and the Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City.

If you prefer to stay within Cleveland County lines, you can go shopping at Sooner Mall in Norman, Showplace Market, Brookhaven Village, Carriage Plaza, Historic Downtown Norman, University Town Center, or Parkway Plaza and Redbud Plaza.

Cleveland County has plenty of fun things for you to do during your free time, so make sure you take a break from the wedding planning process to enjoy everything it has to offer.

To start, you can see a performance by the Norman Ballet Company or a concert by Norman Philharmonic, see the exhibits at Firehouse Art Center, visit historic sites such as the Boyd House, Bizzell Memorial Library, or the Bavinger House, view the bronze sculptures along Legacy Trail, or play blackjack at Riverwind Casino.
