Even though Multnomah County is the smallest county in Oregon, it is the most populous, with plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.

Multnomah County has a large selection of unique wedding venues, including Lan Su Chinese Garden, the International Rose Test Garden, the historic McMennamins Edgefield, and The Lake House at Blue Lake Park. 

The county is served by TriMet, which offers public transportation services in buses, streetcars, MAX Light Rail, and the WES Commuter Rail, so you and your wedding guests will be able to easily navigate the area.

Portland, Multnomah County's seat, has a thriving tourism industry and is a great place for destination weddings. Major Portland-area attractions include the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Portland Art Museum, Gresham History Museum, Washington Park, the Oregon Zoo, Pittock Mansion, and the Portland Japanese Garden.

Outdoor lovers should be sure to check out Multnomah Falls, Mount Hood Regional Forest, and Oxbow Regional Parks for recreation opportunities and beautiful scenery.

Sauvie Island is just 10 miles from Portland and has multiple local beaches for you to enjoy, including Walton Beach and Collins Beach and historic attractions such as the Warrior Rock Lighthouse and Fort William.

Multnomah County has numerous speciality boutiques and shopping malls where you will be able to find everything on your wedding checklist.

Make sure you check out the designer boutiques in the Pearl District and Nob Hill, the Lloyd District, the upscale shops in Bridgeport Village, Washington Square Mall, Clackamas Town Center, and Woodburn Company Stores, which is just 30 minutes from Portland offers tax-free shopping on major brands. 

Remember that Multnomah County has approximately 154 precipitation days annually, so plan your wedding activities and wardrobe accordingly. The summer months are usually best for outdoor weddings, as the average high in July is 79.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
