Knox County, which is at the geographical center of the Great Valley of East Tennessee, is a great place for weddings, as it has a unique blend of big-city amenities and beautiful rural areas.

Major cities in Knox County include Knoxville, which is the county seat, and the city of Farragut. There are also quite a few unincorporated communities, including Bluegrass, Gibbs, Kimberlin Heights, Plainview, Ramsey, Riverdale, and Strawberry Plains.

When shopping for wedding supplies, Knoxville is the place to go, as it has everything from specialty shops and open-air markets, to vintage stores, major shopping malls, and galleries.

Popular shopping venues include The Shops at Turkey Creek, West Town Mall, Knoxville Center, Windsor Square Shopping Center, Halls Plaza, Chapman Ford Crossing, and The Centre at Deane Hill, just to name a few. You could also check out Brooklawn Village Shopping Center in Farragut.

Knox County is home to numerous parks, many of which have shelters and pavilions you can rent for special occasions through the Knox County Parks & Recreation Department.

Parks with facilities available to rent include Concord Park, French Memorial Park, Melton Hill Park, New Harvest Park, Nicholas Ball Park, and Sterchi Hills Park.

Knox County has, in addition to its parks, a number of other beautiful wedding venues for you to consider, from museums and historic sites, to luxury hotels and event centers.

Some popular venues include the Knoxville Museum of Art, Cresent Bend House & Garden, Confederate Memorial Hall, Knoxville Convention Center, and Middlebrook Gardens.

Knox County has plenty for you to enjoy during your free time, so make sure you take a break from the wedding planning process to explore the area.

To start, you can go hiking in Knoxville's Urban Wilderness, spend a day at the Knoxville Zoo, tour Frank H. McClung Museum, or attend one of the county's annual festivals, such as the Jubilee Community Arts Music Festival.
