Collin County, which is located in the northern part of Texas, has a little bit of something for everyone, with plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process. 

Collin County's population is growing at one of the fastest rates in the nation, attracting new businesses and Fortune 500 companies, and its public transportation system has more than doubled in efficiency, so you will be able to explore the area with ease and find everything on your wedding checklist, from bridal gowns to wedding flowers.

In 2012, the county seat, McKinney, which is conveniently located just 30 minutes from Dallas, was ranked by Money Magazine as No. 2 on the list of "Best Places to Live In America". Other major cities in Collin County include Frisco, Allen, Plano, Richardson, Murphy, and Wiley.

Make sure you check out McKinney's historic downtown area, which has plenty of fine dining, entertainment, unique shops, and several salons and spas that can pamper you and your bridesmaids before your big day.

Collin County is home to seven area lakes, which offer recreational opportunities for fishing, boating, and water sports. The county also maintains numerous parks, with plenty of scenic areas for relaxation and affordable wedding venues, including Myers Park and Event Center, which features a rustic 5,000 square foot hall with a stone fireplace, a full kitchen, and incredible views of its gazebo and lake.

Myers Woods has a charming footbridge surrounded by towering trees and is a beautiful spot for wedding photographs. 

Other unique wedding venues in Collin County include Wales Manor Vineyard and Winery, The McKinney Performing Arts Center, the Historic Flour Mill, Chestnut Square Historic Village, the Cotton Mill, and Bella Donna Chapel at Adriatica. 

Collin County has approximately 232 sunny days annually, so you will most likely have beautiful weather for your wedding day; just remember that the summers can be extremely hot and humid, with an average high in July of 95.7 degrees Fahrenheit.
