Pierce County has all the ingredients necessary to plan a truly spectacular wedding, as it features scenic mountain peaks, saltwater shores, quiet towns for rustic escapes, and active cities with thriving downtown areas for more cosmopolitan affairs. 

For a more rustic wedding, the county's Parks and Recreation Department has several wedding venues available at Chambers Creek Regional Park, which features incredible views of the Olympic Mountains and the Puget Sound, Frontier Park, Lakewood Community Center, Meridian Habitat Park & Community Center, Spanaway Park, and Sprinker Recreation Center.

Mount Rainier National Park, a must if you are visiting Pierce County, offers spectacular locations for wedding photographs and plenty of outdoor recreation activities.

Pierce County has plenty of malls, outlet centers, specialty stores, art galleries, and antique stores, so you will be able to find everything on your wedding checklist, from bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses, to toasting flutes and other wedding supplies.

For a great deal, try The Outlet Collection in Auburn. Other popular shopping destinations in Pierce County include South Mill Mall in Puyallup, the Tacoma Farmer's Market, and Blitz & Company Florist.

The county seat of Tacoma has six major museums downtown for you and your wedding guests to enjoy: The Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum, Lemay-America's Car Museum, the Children's Museum of Tacoma, and Foss Waterway Seaport, which is a beautifully restored shipping warehouse and maritime educational center.

Tacoma also has a vibrant nightlife with a variety of restaurants, pubs, and clubs that are great for lively bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Pierce County has a great public transportation system, so you and your wedding guests will be able to explore the area with ease. It is served by Amtrack, Pierce Transit local bus service, Sound Transit light rail service, Washington State Ferries, and Thun Field and Tacoma Narrows Airports. If you are an outdoor lover, the county has an extensive trail system for hikers, bikers, and equestrians.
