Herndon is a great town for a wedding. This charming, pre-Civil war town has plenty of hotels, free shuttle services, and resources to make the wedding planning process go smoothly.

Check out both the Sheraton Herndon Dulles Airport Hotel and Washington Dulles Marriott Suites as possible wedding venues. Both hotels offer 24-hour free shuttle service to the Washington Dulles International Airport, making them convenient for your out of town wedding guests. 

You can find traditional wedding cakes at Amphora Bakery, which was a winner in the 2012 Bride's Choice Awards. The bakery can also make custom edible favors and host an intimate bridal brunch at its Herndon location. For a special treat, rent a chocolate fountain or order a themed candy buffet from The Chocolate Chick. 

Herndon is only 22 miles from downtown Washington D.C., so you and your guests will have easy access to all the major attractions, including the National Air and Space Museum's Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

If you want to stay in town, you can hike the W&OD Trail, attend an event at the award winning Herndon Community Center, go golfing at Herndon Centennial Golf Course, watch the Elden Street Players theater group, or visit the vibrant downtown area and dine in one of the unique restaurants that it has to offer.
