Saraland, which is also known as the "Gateway to Progress," is a growing community in beautiful southwest Alabama, and we found plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.

If you're planning a traditional Southern affair, you might want to consider trying Catfish Junction, which has experience catering events for 1,500-plus people and offers in-house banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 100 guests.

While shopping for wedding supplies, the local Walmart Supercenter is a good place to start, as it carries everything from wedding invitations and place cards, to wedding napkins, streamers, bubbles, and wedding favors. Also, its bakery department can make affordable custom wedding cakes.

For wedding rings, make sure you stop by Andress Jewelry, which carries a wide variety of styles, from classic and antique, to fashion, curved or notched.

Saraland has several parks for you to enjoy during your free time, including Bethel Forest Park, Amelia Park, which features walking trails and covered picnic shelters, Rufus Harbin Park, and Dixon Park.

Also, since Saraland is located just eight miles north of Mobile, it has easy access to a number of historical sites and museums, including the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center, the Pheonix Fire Museum, and the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion.
